Updated – Declaration of Disaster Ordinance 20-08 in Response to COVID-19:  The Aleutians East Borough Assembly passed emergency ordinance 20-08, signed by Mayor Alvin Osterback, which updates and supersedes Emergency Ordinance 20-07 (in response to COVID-19). This ordinance was effective immediately upon adoption on May 14, 2020 and remains in effect until July 12, 2020. Please see below for details.

False Pass Ports and Harbors – COVID-19 Health Alert for Travelers: As of April 1, 2020, the City of False Pass posted a notice reaffirming the State’s Health Mandate 10.1 (International and Interstate Travel – Order for 14-day self-quarantine) and State Health Mandate 12 (Limiting travel between communities to critical infrastructure or critical personal needs). Please see below for more information. 

False Pass Airport – COVID-19 Health Alert for Travelers: As of April 1, 2020, the City of False Pass posted a notice reaffirming the State’s Health Mandate 10.1 (International and Interstate Travel – Order for 14-day self-quarantine) and State Health Mandate 12 (Limiting travel between communities to critical infrastructure or critical personal needs). Operator Mutual Aid Agreement – COVID-19: As of March 27, the City of False Pass drafted a Harbor Operator Mutual Aid Agreement. All vessels using the False Pass harbor are required to complete this form. Please see below for more information.

Declaration of Emergency: As of March 25, 2020, the City of False Pass issued a Declaration of Emergency in response to COVID-19. Please see below for more information.

King Cove: COVID-19

LCA – Precision Regional Air Carriers: As of April 10, 2020, the City of King Cove requires all persons traveling into King Cove on Lake Clark Air and Precision Air to self-quarantine for 14 days. Please see the advisory below for more information.

Store Customers: As of April 10, 2020, the City of King Cove requires all persons who are in their 14-day quarantine to use retail stores’ delivery options or have a non-quarantined family member or friend shop for you. Please see the advisory below for more information.

Fishermen COVID-19 Precautions: As of April 8, 2020, the City of King Cove requires persons arriving by boat to self-quarantine for 14 days on their boat or domicile. If additional crew members join your vessel, the quarantine for everyone on the vessel restarts at day one. 

Net Loft and Locker Use – KING COVE HARBOR ADVISORY: As of April 8, 2020, the City of King Cove requires persons using the net loft and locker spaces to wear masks (face coverings) at all times. No more than 10 people may use the loft at one time. Social distancing must be maintained Please see the advisory below for more information.

Ravn – Grant Regional Air Carriers: As of March 31, 2020, the City of King Cove requires all persons traveling into King Cove on Ravn Air and Grant Aviation to self-quarantine for 14 days. Please see the advisory below for more information.

AC Store – Gould & Sons – Silver Bay Stockroom: As of March 31, 2020, the City of King Cove requests that retail establishments practice and enforce social distancing and set shopping times for seniors and the immuno-compromised. Please see the advisory below for more information.

Nelson Lagoon: COVID-19

Declaration of Emergency: On March 28, 2020, the Nelson Lagoon Tribal Council issued a declaration of Emergency ordinance in response to COVID-19. Please see below for more information.

Sand Point: COVID-19

Revised City of Sand Point Travel Policy: Effective immediately (as of March 11, 2021) – The City of Sand Point has changed its recommended policy for people traveling into Sand Point. Those who are within 90 days of testing positive for COVID-19 or 14 days past their second vaccination or single-dose vaccination AND asymptomatic may come to Sand Point and are not required to get tested or isolate. However, the City still requests all travelers to the community to adhere to best practices. Please see below for more information.

Harbor Operator Mutual Aid Agreement: As of April 13, 2020, the City of Sand Point drafted a Harbor Operator Mutual Aid Agreement. All vessels using the Sand Point harbor are required to complete this form. Barge services are exempt. Please see below for more information.

Declaration of Emergency: As of March 23, 2020, the City of Sand Point issued a Declaration of Emergency in response to COVID-19. Please see below for more information.
